In the world of IOT, much is said of the potential size of the market and the value of the data insights that will be gained from billions of devices. However, before data can flow, one essential step is needed – onboarding – the connecting of a device to a platform or cloud. Today, a slow and/or insecure manual setup process is often used. Intel has been working with industry players to create an open, secure and automated onboarding solution - Intel Secure Device Onboard (SDO). In this presentation, the author will explain how SDO works and how Intel and Arm are working together to move it into a standards body together with an associated open source development model.
